by Keeping Wake County Neighbors Cool: REALTORS® Deliver A/C Units

As North Carolina temperatures continue to climb each summer, access to air conditioning is more than a matter of comfort—it's a matter of health and safety. Through the Cool for Wake program, members of the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® (RRAR) are helping ensure that some of Wake County's most medically vulnerable residents have a safe place to escape the heat.

Over 70 window air conditioning units have been purchased and delivered to medically fragile neighbors across Wake County thanks to the generosity of RRAR members. Even more impressive, over 50 RRAR members collectively contributed $10,000 to cover the cost of these units, demonstrating the REALTOR® community's ongoing commitment to serving others beyond the closing table.

The effort is made possible through a longstanding partnership between RRAR's REALTOR® Giving Network (RGN) and Wake County Human Services

Over the past 10+ years, RGN volunteers have supplied and delivered more than 400 window A/C units, ensuring that hundreds of households have access to a cooler, safer living environment during North Carolina's hottest months.

What makes this initiative especially meaningful is the personal involvement of REALTORS®. Members don't simply donate—they help deliver the units directly to recipients, bringing compassion, conversation, and care to neighbors who often face significant health challenges.

These deliveries serve as a reminder that real estate is about more than homes; it's about building stronger, healthier communities.
