Call for Action Regarding the proposed 68.3% Increase in Dwelling Insurance Rates

Important Request from NCR President John McPherson:

I’m asking each of you take a few minutes today to participate in our Call for Action (CFA) regarding the proposed 68.3% statewide average increase in dwelling insurance rates.

What is a dwelling policy?
A dwelling policy covers non-owner-occupied residences of up to four units, including rental properties, investment properties and other properties not occupied full-time by their owners.

Why Should You Participate?
Even if this proposal doesn’t directly affect your own property, it directly affects housing affordability across North Carolina. Rising insurance costs drive up housing prices and put more strain on North Carolinians who rent or own investment properties. This proposal would only worsen our housing challenges.

Why Your Voice Matters
A Call for Action only works when REALTORS® across the state speak with one voice. Together, we can urge Commissioner Causey to reject this unreasonable proposal from the North Carolina Rate Bureau.

How To Take Action
