The term 'trail blazer' tends to get over-used in today's hyperbolic, social media-driven vocabulary. In the case of Jean Hunt, she has truly been a trail blazer for RRAR.

She is known as one of the first female REALTORS® to sell real estate in Wake County, earning her license in 1966. Jean was also the first female President of our association in 1977. And in 1984 she was the first female active REALTOR® to receive RRAR's REALTOR® of the Year award.

Raleigh News & Observer article on Jean Hunt from April 1984.

She also led the push to bring Women's Council of REALTORS® (WCR) to Raleigh in 1973. She was honored as WCR's State Member of the Year in 1984.

It was after last year's WCR inauguration that we had the privilege to sit down and have a conversation with Jean about her time as a REALTOR® and as a leader in this association.

Now 99 years young, Jean recalled with remarkable clarity her fondest memories of her time with RRAR in our conversation.

Jean shared with us that she served on our Board of Directors for 25 years and that a rule had to be made for her to roll off the Board. She also shared that often in Board meetings she would "bring up the other side (of an issue) just so that we could discuss it".

We would like to thank Jean Hunt not only for the time she gave to talk with us but for her many years of dedicated service to Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®. We hope you enjoy our conversation with Jean Hunt, a trail blazer of our association.
