Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®/Triangle MLS, Inc. voted 2002 Outstanding REALTOR® Association Web Site for Members by the National Association of REALTORS®

RALEIGH – The recently launched web site of the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®/Triangle MLS, Inc. was one of three web sites that received national recognition for as an “Outstanding Site for Members,” by the National Association of REALTORS© (NAR).

The first annual web site contest, sponsored by the REALTOR® Association Executive Magazine, received 72 entries from REALTOR® associations all over the country.  Every year, more and more REALTOR® associations are going online – bringing information to their members with a click of a button.  With this worldwide presence, information such as codes, ethics, Bylaws, continuing education, computer training courses, and forms can be easily acquired – thus, eliminating a trip to the association office.  The objective of the competition was to recognize associations that offer outstanding member service and helpful online information for homebuyers and sellers.

“I feel honored to have played a part in the building of the TMLS/RRAR website,” states Carol Hamrick, Webmaster of TMLS/RRAR. “It has been the most exciting adventure converting our office onto the desktop of the REALTOR®’s personal computer.”

“The success of the web site is the result of the collaborative efforts of the entire staff working together to ensure that every product, program and service the organization offers it’s members is there for their easy access,” states Ray Larcher, Executive Vice President of RRAR and CEO of Triangle MLS, Inc. “Each staff member worked closely with our Web Master, Carol Hamrick, and the development company, QBlue.com, to ensure a comprehensive resource for both our members, as well as the general public.”

John Clendinen, President and CEO of QBlue.com, and developer of the RRAR/TMLS website states, “The success of this website stems from what we believe few web design firms understand. That the primary goal of good design is not technological – it is communicative to understand and adopt the client’s vision, rather than our own, for each project. In the case of Triangle MLS and RRAR, that meant putting aside ideas of a traditional website and developing instead, an innovative content management system that provides centralized control of HTML, password access, and event scheduling.”

The Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® is one of 1,800 local boards and associations of REALTORS® nationwide that comprise the National Association of REALTORS®.  The Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® is North Carolina's largest local professional trade association with over 3,600 members.  The Association, established in 1924, serves as the regional representative for real estate practitioners, appraisers, property managers, and other professionals allied with the Real Estate industry.

The Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® and the Triangle Multiple Listing Service, Inc., have moved into a new headquarters facility in Cary, N.C., that has become the focal point for the Association and the real estate industry.  The new facility offers over 7,000 square feet of function and meeting space for business and social events available to the members and the general public.
