Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors Recognize President Tom Smith

On the June 19, 2002 the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors recognized President Tom Smith, for his dedication to the 2001 RPAC fund. Since becoming the RPAC chair in 2001, Smith has raised $46,000 for RPAC, which had surpassed the goal of $34,140. The year 2001 has been the strongest fundraising year ever, resulting in the highest amount ever raised by a local REALTOR® association in North Carolina! With this donation, the association had funding available to support local candidates. As a result of the amount contributed, the Association was permitted to keep a substantial portion of the total goal reached.

Smith also plays a major role in other organizations, both in and out of the REALTOR® globe. Besides being an Ambassador for RPAC, Smith is a supporter and campaigner for the United Way. He also supports the Methodist Home for Children, a nonprofit human service organization that has been helping troubled children, youth, and families for more than 100 years. MHFC services include community-based residential youth homes, family-based counseling, childcare consultation, substance abuse services, foster care, and adoption.

Smith has been with Prudential Carolinas Realty for sixteen years. Smith has been the recipient of the 2000 "President’s Circle" award for Prudential Real Estate — which is given to the top 3% of all Prudential agents in country; the prestigious 2001 Multi-Million Dollar "Leading Edge Society,” placing him in the top 5% of approximately 42,000 Prudential Real Estate professionals in Canada and the U.S.; and the 2001 Zack Bacon Award for his professionalism, integrity, high ethics, and sense of humor while consistently remaining a top producer. Besides serving as 2002 President of the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® and 2002 NAR Director, Smith has also served as the Association’s Secretary/Treasurer and President Elect.
