Smith Named 2006 REALTOR® of Year by
Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®

RALEIGH, N.C. (JANUARY 17, 2007) – The Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® (RRAR) named Tom Smith, manager and broker-in-charge of Prudential Carolinas Realty’s Raleigh Glenwood office, as its 2006 REALTOR™ of the Year at an event at the North Raleigh Country Club on January 5.  In addition, the RRAR installed officers and directors for 2007 at the event.

“It’s an honor to have my name mentioned next to Parker Creech, Diana Lambeth, Burks Crumpler and Zack Bacon, who are past recipients of the award,” Smith said.  “Not only have they been champions for Prudential Carolinas Realty, they have been champions for REALTORS statewide. This award belongs to everyone at our company, because there a lots of Prudential REALTORS® who are just as deserving.”

In 2006, Governor Mike Easley appointed Smith to the North Carolina Housing Partnership.  In addition, he serves on the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® (NCAR) Executive Committee and is past president of the NCAR Housing Opportunity Foundation (Homes4NC).   He is past president of the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®.

Prior to becoming a manager at Prudential Carolinas Realty earlier this year, Smith was a sales associate for the company and a consistent member of the President’s Circle, an honor signifying that he is a leading sales associate on a national basis.  Smith also was the recipient of Prudential Carolinas Realty’s 2001 Zack Bacon Award, one of the highest honors offered by the company, and served as chair of Prudential Carolinas Realty’s Triangle United Way campaign for several years.  He attended NC State University.
