REALTORS® Donate
1200 Gifts To Area’s Needy Children
Cary, NC (December
9, 2008) – Members of the Raleigh Regional Association of
REALTORS® (RRAR) will convene tomorrow at 10:30am to load trucks with
more than 1,200 wrapped gifts for Project Angel Tree. Adding spice
to this RRAR holiday tradition, weather permitting, REALTOR® motorcycle
rider members will provide an escort to the trucks that will deliver the
toys to a holding facility in Raleigh.
RRAR’s Community
Service Committee is partnering with Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem
to sponsor the program. For the eighth year and in the spirit of the
season, RRAR members help to provide for needy children who might otherwise
go without.
The RRAR Community Service
Chairwoman, Carol McCormick said, “This year it is more meaningful
than any I can remember. RRAR members feel so fortunate to have this
opportunity to give back in a year when other’s needs are greater than
our own. We hope that these gifts will add joy to the lives of children
who would otherwise go without.”
The children range in
age from newborn to eighteen years old; are not under the financial umbrella
of other organizations; have been removed from their family of origin because
of abuse or neglect; or are living with extended family members.
With more than 6542 members,
RRAR promotes the highest ethical and professional standards and cooperation
among its members; provides products, programs and services to meet the evolving
needs of the real estate industry and consumers; serves as leading advocate
of private property rights and community involvement.
