Neighbor Helping Neighbor Joint Event donates $10,000 to Hilltop Home This year’s third annual Joint Event fundraiser allowed sponsors to donate $10,000 to Hilltop Home, a private, non-profit, specialized community residential center in Raleigh that serves a maximum of 22 children who have severe to profound developmental disabilities and are medically fragile.
The fundraiser, held in August, has been sponsored in the past by the Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW), Triangle Commercial Association of REALTORS® (TCAR) and Business Office Management Association (BOMA). This year, four other groups joined the effort: Certified Commercial Investment Management (CCIM), Institution of Real Estate Management (IREM), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and Triangle Area Office Builders Association (TRAOBA). “It just gets bigger every year,” says TCAR Executive Officer Kim Brennan. “This year we had over 40 sponsors, over 450 guests and some great raffle items donated by many businesses. The support was tremendous.” Gold sponsor Highwoods Properties Inc showcased the first floor of their Centre Green V building in Cary by hosting a beach-themed fundraiser, complete with tiki huts, umbrellas and dolphins. Every year the sponsoring organizations choose a charity to donate proceeds to and this year it was Hilltop Home. “It’s an extraordinary place that does some amazing work,” says Brenner.
