Community Service Committee Projects for 2006

Community Service Committee Projects for 2008

July 2008
In place of this months regularly scheduled meeting, RRAR’s Community Service Committee went down to the Shepherds Table Soup kitchen to serve lunch to over 300 of the triangles hungry. Men and Women of all ages and backgrounds began lining the outside of Church of the Good Shepherd in anticipation of a break from the heat, a hearty meal and a welcoming atmosphere.

The Shepherd's Table serves a nourishing hot mid-day meal to anyone who walks through our doors - no questions asked.  Every person who comes to us is welcomed without regard to employment status, race, sex, age, color, national origin, religious preference, handicap or income.

The organization feeds men, women, and children in poverty of every faith and every ethnic group - no questions asked.  It takes 200 volunteers and about 125,000 pounds of food each year to feed the hungry at The Shepherd’s Table. In addition to serving lunch RRAR donated $500 to help the cause of hunger. We look forward to a continued partnership throughout the year.

If you would like to learn ways to help with this organization, please contact Caroline Pierce at the board carolinep@rrar.com.
