RRAR New Member Introduction
We hope that you will find the following information concerning joining the association to be helpful.
- Association Orientations are usually held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. The time is 8:30 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. You must remain for the entire orientation in order to receive credit for having attended.
- Tempo computer classes for the Multiple Listing Service are held every Wednesday morning. The times are 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. You must remain for the entire class in order to receive credit for having attended.
- Agents are required to come to the board in person to fill out an application and pay the application fee of $300.00 and the appropriate dues at that time. Regular REALTOR® Member dues are $416.00 for 2010, but are prorated monthly. This amount includes Local dues of $171.00, State dues of $130.00 and National dues of $115.00. Dues may be paid by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Once the agent has completed an application and paid the fee and dues, we will then schedule their attendance at Orientation and Tempo. Class attendance cannot be scheduled until the above steps have been followed.
- Once agents have completed both classes, they will be eligible to receive MLS access. Agents will need to have their salesperson's license number at this time. They must also have a Subscriber/Password Security Agreement that has been filled out and signed by the broker-in-charge.
- The bylaws require each Designated REALTOR® to pay dues for himself and for all salespersons in the firm, unless the salespersons join the Association on their own. If you are with a member firm and you do not apply and complete the Orientation Course within 45 days of registration, your Designated REALTOR® will be billed additionally for the appropriate amount. Non-member assessments are due within 30 days of billing.
- NOTE: If the Designated REALTOR® sends in Non-member dues for you, the money “officially” comes from him or her even if, in fact, your firm has required you to pay it. Any arrangement, which is made between you and the head of your firm concerning these payments, is strictly an internal matter for your firm.
- We hope the above information will be of help to all of our members. If we can be of further assistance, please contact our Membership Department at 919-654-5400.
